74 Transition Year students and 7 teachers travelled to Italy last week for the TY tour. The journey began late on Saturday night/Sunday morning as the flight from Dublin airport departed at 6.30 am. The first port of call was a very busy Verona, where the students visited the famous Roman arena and the Juliet’s house, before checking in at their hotel in San Zeno overlooking Lake Garda. The next day the group took a cable car ride 1700 metres up to the top of a mountain, before visiting the picturesque town of Sirmione at the southern end of Lake Garda. On Tuesday they took a two hour bus journey to the unforgettable city of Venice. Wednesday saw them taking a break from sightseeing as they hit the rides at the Gardaland theme park, before heading back to catch the late flight to Dublin, eventually arriving back at the school at 3.30 am.
