A total of 15 athletes made the long journey up to the Antrim Forum on Friday 5th May to compete in the District E Track & Field Championships. Our senior boys got the day off to a great start with Jack Britton and Conor Mc Gloin picking up First & Second place respectively in the Senior Boys 5k. Next up was Eugene Doherty, who stormed through the junior boys 100m heats to secure his place in the final later in the day. He then went on to pick up First Place in what was a very tight final. Darragh Kelly made his mark yet again this year, picking up a gold medal in both the senior boys 800m and 1500m. The field events were just as successful with Ryan O Leary and Tom Geraghty picking up First and Second place respectively in the senior boys long jump. Ryan also collected a silver medal for his performance in the javelin. Conor Mc Gloin added to his earlier medal when he picked up a gold medal in the senior boys discus. Roisin Maguire finished the day off with a gold medal in the senior girls shot putt. Well done to all the athletes who travelled and competed on the day and best of luck to all the medal winners as they now go on to represent the school at the Ulster Championships on Friday 19th & Sat 20th May.
